An Act to amend “The Nelson City Gas Act, 1871.”

Preamble.

WHEREAS an Act was passed by the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Nelson City Gas Act, 1871:” And whereas it is expedient that the said Act should be amended, and that the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson should have power to change the site authorized by the said Act for the construction of the necessary works for the manufacture of gas in the said City:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Nelson City Gas Act Amendment Act, 1872.”

2 Power to change site for Gasworks.

It shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson to construct all such works as he shall think necessary or expedient for the manufacture of gas upon sections numbered respectively fifty-eight, fifty-nine, and sixty on the Government Plan of the City of Nelson, or upon any part or parts thereof, as he shall think fit.
