An Act to declare that certain Waterworks constructed in the Borough of Lawrence shall be deemed to have been constructed under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876.”
Preamble.
WHEREAS the Borough of Lawrence has, under the provisions of section fifteen of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,”
been duly constituted a borough under the said Act: And whereas prior to the constitution of the said borough certain waterworks had been constructed in the said borough: And whereas it is desirable that the said waterworks should be deemed to have been constructed under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876”
.
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Lawrence Municipal Waterworks Act, 1877.”
2 Waterworks heretofore constructed to be deemed to be waterworks within the meaning of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876.”

All waterworks, streams, and waters, with all rights appertaining thereto, and all reservoirs, dams, tanks, and pipes heretofore constructed or acquired by the Borough of Lawrence before the constitution of such borough under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,”
shall be deemed to be waterworks within the meaning of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,”
as fully and effectually as if they had been waterworks acquired or constructed under the authority of the said Act.
