An Act to authorize the Governor to grant or otherwise assure to the body corporate of the County of Vincent certain Land in the Township of Clyde, and portion of Longstone Street, in the said Town.
Preamble.
WHEREAS the piece of land described in. the First Schedule hereto was granted under “The Public Reserves Act, 1854,”
and “The Public Reserves Act, 1862,”
to the Superintendent of the late Province of Otago and his successors, upon trust for municipal purposes: And whereas the piece of land described in the Second Schedule hereto forms portion of Longstone Street, in the said town: And whereas it is expedient to authorize the Governor to grant or otherwise assure to the body corporate of the County of Vincent the said two pieces of land:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Clyde Public Reserves Grant Act, 1877.”
2 On Act coming into operation, land in Second Schedule to cease to be a public road.
Immediately on this Act coming into operation the piece of land described in the Second Schedule hereto shall cease to be portion of Longstone Street and a public road.
3 Governor may grant, &c., to body corporate of Vincent, land in First and Second Schedules.
The Governor may grant or otherwise assure to the body corporate of the County of Vincent the pieces of land described in the First and Second Schedules hereto.
4 Upon issue of grant, land to vest in body corporate in feesimple, discharged from all uses and trusts.
Upon the issue of any such grant, or the execution of any such assurance, the land granted or assured shall vest in the body corporate of the said county, in fee-simple, discharged from all uses and trusts theretofore affecting the same.
SCHEDULES
FIRST SCHEDULE
All that piece or parcel of land in the Town of Clyde, in the Provincial District of Otago, being Block XLVII. on the map of the said town, containing by admeasurement nine (9) perches, more or less. Bounded on the North-east, one hundred and thirty-eight (138) links, by Blyth Street; on the South-east, eighty-two (82) links, by the piece of land described in the Second Schedule hereto; and on the West, one hundred and sixty (160) links, by Coquet Street.
SECOND SCHEDULE
All that piece or parcel of land being portion of Longstone Street, in the said Town of Clyde. Bounded on the North-east by other portion of Longstone Street, one hundred (100) links; on the South-east by the Camp Reserve, one hundred and forty-one and seven-tenths (141·7) links; on the West by other portion of Longstone Street, one hundred and sixteen and four-tenths (116·4) links; and on the Northwest by the said Block XLVII., eighty-two (82) links.
