An Act to authorize the Taranaki County Council to borrow Two Thousand Pounds upon the Security of certain Land.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Taranaki County Council Loan Act, 1878.”

2 County Council may borrow £2,000 at 7 per cent.

The County Council may borrow, upon such terms and conditions, with or without power of sale, as they may think right, by way of mortgage, any sum not exceeding two thousand pounds, upon the security of the land mentioned in the Schedule to this Act. The interest paid upon any money so borrowed shall not exceed seven per centum per annum.

Application of the money.

The money so borrowed shall be applied to forming and metalling the Junction Road. No such mortgage or security shall give any power of sale over the said land.
