An Act to vest certain Land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Borough Council of Christchurch.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Borough of Christchurch Reserves Act, 1878.”
2 Lands vested in borough.
From and after the passing of this Act, the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be vested without any conveyance or assurance in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of the City of Christchurch, to be held by them in trust for sanitary purposes.
3 Crown grants may be issued.
The Governor may issue such Crown grants or make such other assurances as may be necessary for evidencing the title of the body corporate of the said borough to the land and hereditaments hereby vested in it. Notwithstanding anything contained in “The Land Transfer Act, 1870,”
any grant or other assurance so issued may be registered, although trusts are expressed therein.
Schedule Municipal Endowments
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 328 acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2340 (in red). Bounded towards the North-east by a road line for a distance of about 30 chains 60 links; towards the Northwest by Section numbered 31684 for a distance of about 97 chains 50 links; towards the East by Section numbered 31685, and also by Section numbered 1579 (in red), for a distance altogether of about 89 chains; towards the South by a road line for a distance of about 33 chains; also towards the South by Section numbered 31685, and a line in continuation of its northern boundary, for a distance of about 28 chains 50 links: as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 60 acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2341 (in red). Bounded towards the North by a road line for a distance of about 17 chains 60 links; towards the West by Section numbered 22055 for a distance of about 32 chains; towards the South-east by Section numbered 22056 for a distance of 25 chains 60 links; and towards the East by a road line for a distance of about 25 chains 50 links: as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 70 acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2342 (in red). Bounded towards the North-east by Section numbered 11259 for a distance of 31 chains 47 links; towards the South-east by a road line for a distance of about 29 chains 50 links; and towards the North-west and South-west by a road line for a distance altogether of about 47 chains 80 links: as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 270 acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2343 (in red). Bounded towards the South-west by Section numbered 30308 for a distance of about 55 chains 50 links; towards the North-west by a road line for a distance of about 40 chains; towards the North by a road line for a distance of about 25 chains; towards the East by Section numbered 22018 for a distance of about 38 chains; towards the South-east by Section numbered 21893 for a distance of 20 chains; and also towards the South-east by a road line for a distance of about 35 chains; and towards the North-east by Section numbered 21893 for a distance of about 15 chains 50 links: as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 51 acres, more or less, being Section numbered 2361 (in red). Bounded towards the Westward by Section numbered 31685 for a distance of 40 chains; towards the Southward by a road line for a distance of about 17 chains 40 links; towards the Eastward by a road line for a distance of about 41 chains; and towards the Northward by Reserve 2340 (in red), for a distance of about 8 chains 20 links: as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office, Christchurch.
