WHEREAS by the provisions of “The Oamaru Waterworks Act, 1875,” the Municipal Council of the incorporated Town of Oamaru was authorized to borrow sixty thousand pounds for the purpose of supplying the Town of Oamaru with water: And whereas by the provisions of “The Oamaru Waterworks Act 1875 Amendment Act, 1879,” the said Municipal Council was authorized to borrow the sum of one hundred and ten thousand pounds in the whole, it being enacted in the said Act that the words “sixty thousand pounds,” where they occur in “The Oamaru Waterworks Act, 1875,” should be read “one hundred and ten thousand pounds:” And whereas such sum of one hundred and ten thousand pounds has been found insufficient to complete the construction of the said works, and it is therefore expedient to further amend “The Oamaru Waterworks Act, 1875:”
