An Act to declare the Streets in Te Aroha Township to be Public Streets, and to provide Sites for Public Buildings.
Preamble.
WHEREAS a township has been laid out on certain land at Te Aroha, on the Thames River, by the Native owners thereof, and many of the allotments fronting on the streets have been leased: And whereas certain allotments have been set apart by the said owners as a site for public offices: And whereas it is expedient to remove any doubts that may exist as to the powers of the several persons interested to deal as aforesaid with the said land:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “Te Aroha Township Act, 1882.”
2 Streets to be public.
The several streets so laid out as aforesaid, and shown on the original working plan of Te Aroha Township deposited in the District Survey Office at Auckland, are hereby declared to have been duly dedicated to the public, and shall hereafter be public highways or streets.
3 Site for public buildings.
It shall be lawful for the owners of the piece or parcel of land firstly described in the Schedule to this Act, and their Trustees, to convey the same to Her Majesty, her heirs and successors, as a site for a Court of Justice and other public buildings.
It shall be lawful for the owners of the piece or parcel of land secondly described in the said Schedule, or their trustees, to convey the same to the Education Board of the District of Auckland as a site for a school and for teacher’s residence.

Description of Government Land
All that area in the Township of Te Aroha, containing two (2) acres, more or less, being Block XVI., and marked as a reserve on the plan mentioned in section two of this Act of the said township in the District Survey Office, Auckland.
Description of School Site
All that area in the Township of Te Aroha, containing one acre three roods thirty-two perches, more or less, being Block VIII., and marked as a school reserve on the plan aforesaid.
