An Act to enable the Waitara Harbour Board to borrow the sum of Six Thousand Pounds for the Purpose of carrying out Improvements in the Harbour and River of Waitara.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act is “The Waitara Harbour Board Loan Act, 1883.”

2 Waitara Harbour Board may borrow £6,000 for harbour improvements.

The Waitara Harbour Board shall have power to borrow, subject to the provisions of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” any sum not exceeding six thousand pounds, and to apply the money so borrowed to the carrying-out of improvements in the harbour and river of Waitara.

3 Debentures issued under Acts of 1879 and 1881 to have preference.

All debentures issued under “The Waitara Harbour Board Land and Borrowing Act, 1879,” and “The Waitara Harbour Board Loan Act, 1881,” by the Harbour Board of Waitara in respect of loans of five thousand pounds and of ten thousand pounds respectively, with the interest payable thereon, shall have preference as securities over any loan to be raised under this Act.
