The Short Title of this Act is “The Kaiapoi Domain Board Empowering Act, 1884.”

The Kaiapoi Domain Board may, by resolution from time to time to be passed, which resolution shall be advertised in some newspaper circulating in the Borough of Kaiapoi twice a week at least for two successive weeks prior to the days hereinafter referred to, determine that, as to not more than ten days in any year, which days shall be specified in such resolution, but shall not be one or other of the days mentioned in the Schedule hereto, any person desiring to obtain admission to the Kaiapoi Domain, being Reserve number seventy-four, in the Mandeville District, shall not be entitled to obtain such admission upon any one of such days unless upon payment to the said Board, or to some person, body, or society (incorporate or not) named by the said Board in such resolution, of a fee or charge to be fixed by such resolution, and which shall not exceed one shilling for each person, unless such person desires to obtain admission to the stand hereinafter mentioned, in which case an additional fee or charge not exceeding ten shillings, to be fixed as aforesaid, may be imposed prior to his obtaining admission to such stand.

The Board may at any time by resolution authorize any person, body, or society (incorporate or not) to erect upon some portion of the said Domain a stand or pavilion, upon such terms as to plans, size, situation, mode and price of admission thereto, custody, and otherwise, in all respects as the Board shall by such resolution determine.

Any person who shall, without authority of the Board, enter the said reserve or stand upon any such day so fixed without having paid such fee or charge according to the said resolution shall be liable to a penalty of not more than twenty shillings.

This Act shah continue in operation until the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, and no longer.
