An Act to grant or otherwise assure to the Chairman and Trustees of the Clyde Athenæum and Public Library certain Lands in the Township of Clyde, being portions of Street-lines intersecting the Public Domain and Recreation-ground.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Clyde Domain and Recreation-ground Grant Act, 1888.”
2 Portions of certain streets closed.
Immediately on the coming into operation of this Act the portions of Flamborough Head Street, Bridlington Street, Blyth Street, and Stockton Street intersecting the Public Domain and Recreation-grounds of the Township of Clyde shall cease to be portions of the aforesaid streets or public roads.
3 To whom land granted.
The Governor may grant or otherwise assure to the Chairman and Trustees of the Clyde Athenæum and Public Library the pieces of land comprised within the portions of streets aforesaid.
4 In whom land vested.
Upon the issue of any such grant, or the execution of any such assurance, the land so granted or assured shall vest in the said Chairman and Trustees in fee-simple, and shall form part of the public domain and recreation-ground.
