An Act to vest in Trustees certain Land acquired for a Drill-shed at Whangarei.
Preamble.
WHEREAS the piece of land at Whangarei described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired for the purposes of a drill-shed for the Volunteers of the district, and a drill-shed erected thereon, and it is expedient for the proper control and maintenance thereof that the said land and building should be vested in trustees: And whereas such land is now vested in Her Majesty the Queen:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Whangarei Drill-shed Act, 1888.”
2 Drill-shed vested in trustees.
The land described in the schedule hereto, and all buildings and erections thereon, are hereby vested for an estate in fee-simple in Thomas Viret Shepherd, Lieutenant-Colonel, commanding the Auckland District of Volunteers; Arthur Thomas, of Whangarei, settler; John David McKenzie, of Whangarei, farmer; and Edward Williams, of Whangarei, saddler, as trustees, to hold the said land and buildings as a drill-shed for the use of the Whangarei Volunteers, subject to the provisions of an Act passed or intended to be passed during the present session of the General Assembly in Parliament, and which Act is shortly intituled, “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Act, 1888.”
Schedule Whangarei Drill-shed Site
All that piece of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing 12.5 perches, more or less, being portions of Lots Nos. 15, 16, 18, and 19 of Block No. 6 of the Town of Whangarei. Bounded (commencing at a point distant from the south-western corner of Lot No. 19 along Bank Street 24ft.) towards the North-west by Bank Street aforesaid, 40ft.; towards the North-east by a line at right angles to Bank Street aforesaid, 89ft. 4in.; again towards the North-west by other portion of Lot No. 15, 12ft.; again towards the North-east by Vine Street, 6ft.; towards the South-east by Lot No. 14 of said Block No. 6,56ft. 6in.; and towards the South-west by a line at right angles to Bank Street, 71ft.
