An Act to enable the Council of the Borough of Caversham to deal with the Surplus Profits of the Waterworks Account of the said Borough.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Caversham Waterworks Account Act, 1896.”
2 Interpretation.
In the interpretation hereof, “the said account”
shall mean the separate account which the Council of the Borough of Caversham is obliged by law to keep of water-rates, water-supply, and moneys accruing from waterworks.
3 Power to deal with surplus.
After making due provision for all sums with which the said account is by law charged, the Council of the Borough of Caversham is hereby empowered to transfer the surplus remaining on the thirty-first March last in the said account to the credit of the General Account of the Corporation of the said borough.
