An Act to extend the Powers of the Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association in respect of a certain Piece of Land situate in the Town of Gore.
Preamble.
WHEREAS a certain piece of land, specified in the Schedule hereto, was some time since purchased by the Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association (hereinafter throughout this Act called “the said society”
), a society registered under “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,”
out of its own moneys, and was vested in the said society, in its corporate name, in fee-simple: And whereas it is expedient that the said society should have more extended powers in relation to the disposal of the said piece of land than are given to the said society by “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,”
and “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act 1877 Amendment Act. 1885”

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association Empowering Act, 1899.”
2 Power to borrow, sell, lease, or mortgage.
Notwithstanding the provisions of “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,”
and “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1885,”
the said society shall have full power from time to time to borrow such sum or sums of money upon the security of the said piece of land as the said society shall by resolution at a general meeting decide, and shall also have absolute power to sell, mortgage with or without a power of sale, or otherwise dispose of the said piece of land, or to lease the same for such term and upon such conditions as the said society shall think fit.
3 President’s certificate conclusive proof of authority to sell, &c.
A certificate under the hand of the president of the said society, or of the chairman of any general meeting of the said society at which a resolution was passed authorising such borrowing, leasing, mortgage, sale, or other disposal, setting out such resolution and certifying that the same was duly passed, shall be conclusive evidence of such resolution having been duly passed and of such authority having been duly given by the said society.
Schedule
All that piece of land situate in the Town of Gore, containing 14 acres 3 roods 9 perches, more or less, being Section No. 11, Block XVI., on the map of the said town, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title entered in Register-book, Volume xxxi, folio 38, in the Land Transfer Office, Invercargill
