An Act to constitute the Woodville County.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Woodville County Act, 1901.”
2 Constitution of Woodville County.
The Woodville County is hereby constituted, and shall comprise that portion of the Waipawa County particularly described in the Schedule hereto; and the boundaries of the Waipawa County are hereby altered accordingly.
3 Certain road districts merged in county.
The Woodville, Kumeroa, and Maungaatua Road Districts are hereby abolished, and shall be deemed to be merged in the Woodville County constituted by this Act, and the provisions of section fifty-seven of “The Counties Act, 1886,”
shall apply to these local bodies.
4 Jurisdiction of County Council.
From and after the coming into operation of this Act, and during the existence of the county hereby constituted, no local body or authority other than the County Council shall, within the limits of the said county, exercise any jurisdiction or authority over any roads or over or in relation to any matter or thing in respect of which jurisdiction is conferred upon a County Council under the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,”
or any amendment thereof, or otherwise.
Schedule
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by Tamaki No. 4 Block from the summit of the Ruahine Range to the Mangapukakakahu Stream at the north-eastern corner of Section No. 13, Block I., Woodville Survey District; thence by the said Mangapukakakahu Stream to its confluence with the Oruakeretaki Stream; thence by the said Qruakeretaki Stream to the Manawatu River: thence towards the east generally by the said Manawatu River to a point due west of the mouth of the Otope Stream; thence by a right line to the mouth of that stream: thence towards the north and east generally by the said Otope Stream to its intersection by the southern boundary-line of Kaitoki No. 3 Block: thence again on the north by the said Kaitoki No. 3 Block to the Mangatoro No. 1 Block: thence towards the east generally by Mangatoro Nos. 1, 3, and 2 Blocks to Puketoi No. 6b Block: thence towards the south-east generally by the Puketoi Nos. 6b and 6a Blocks respectively to the boundary-line between the Counties of Waipawa and Pahiatua: thence towards the south and south-west generally by the County of Pahiatua as described in the Schedule to “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1888”
: and thence towards the north-west by the County of Pohangina as described in the Schedule to “The Pohangina County Act, 1894,”
to the place of commencement.
