An Act to constitute the Aorere Riding of the County of Collingwood a County.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Collingwood County Act, 1903.”
2 Date of Act coming into operation.
This Act shall come into force on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and four.
3 Constitution of county.
A county is hereby constituted, comprising the Aorere Riding of the County of Collingwood, particularly described in the Schedule hereto; and the boundaries of the County of Collingwood are hereby altered accordingly.
4 Name of new county, and change of name of existing County of Collingwood.
The now existing County of Collingwood shall be called the County of Takaka, and the county hereby constituted shall be called the County of Collingwood.
5 Collingwood Road District abolished.
The Collingwood Road District is hereby abolished, and shall be deemed to be merged in the County of Collingwood constituted by this Act, and the provisions of section fifty-seven of “The Counties Act, 1886,”
shall apply to such merger.
Schedule
All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the west, north-west, and east generally by Tasman Sea and Golden Bay from Kohaihai Bluff to the mouth of the Pariwhakaoho River, at the northern corner of Section No. 79, Block III., Waitapu Survey District; thence towards the south-east by a right line to the summit of Slate River Peak; thence by the summit of the range to Mount Snowdon; thence towards the south generally by the summit of the range over Mount Domett and the leading spur to the ocean at Kohaihai Bluff, the place of commencement.
