An Act to make Further Provision regarding a Commonage or Racecourse at Tapanui.

Preamble
[Repealed]
The Preamble was repealed, as from 19 November 1907, by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907 (1907 No 40).
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title
The Short Title of this Act is The Tapanui Commonage Reserve Act 1905.
2 Trustees empowered to make by-law
The Tapanui Racing Club, or board of persons who hold or conduct race meetings upon any portion of Section 62, Block XIII, Glenkenich Survey District, shall be deemed for all purposes to be the owner of such portion during the continuance of any such race meeting held thereon, and shall have power to make a by-law providing that no bookmaker or bookmaker's clerk, or professional gambler, or undesirable person shall be admitted to or suffered to remain on the racecourse while any race meeting is being held, and to give authority to any of their officers or employees to prevent any such person, or any person believed by them to be such, from coming to the course, or, if found thereon, to remove them or cause them to be removed:
Provided that the leave and license of the Council of the Borough of Tapanui to hold any such race meeting thereon shall have been first had and obtained.
