An Act to constitute the Borough of Eketahuna.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Eketahuna Borough Act, 1906.”
2 Borough of Eketahuna constituted.
Notwithstanding anything in “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,”
the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby constituted a borough, under the name of “ketahuna.”
3 Provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act. 1900,”
to apply.
The provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,”
shall apply to the said borough in the same manner as if it had been declared a borough by the Governor under Part XVI of that Act.
4 Eketahuna Town District abolished.
It is hereby enacted that on the coming into force of this Act the Eketahuna Town District is abolished, and all the property, rights, powers, functions, and liabilities of the said district are hereby vested in the Corporation of the Borough of Eketahuna.
5 When Act to come into force.
This Act shall come into force on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seven.
Schedule
All that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Mangaone Survey District, bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 19, Eketahuna Settlement, from the Makakahi River to the Railway-line Reserve at the easternmost corner of the said Section No. 19; thence towards the south-east by the said Railway-line Reserve to the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 15, Eketahuna Settlement; thence again towards the north-east by a right line across the said Railway Reserve, and by the north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 15 and Reserve No. 40 to the Eketahuna-Tinui Road; thence along that road in a westerly direction to the westernmost corner of the said Reserve No. 40; thence by a right line across that road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 12; Eketahuna Settlement; thence by the north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 12 to the easternmost corner of that section; thence towards the east by the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 11 to the south-eastern corner of that section; thence towards the south by the southern boundary-line of the said Section No. 11 to the Railway Reserve; thence along the Railway Reserve to the Masterton-Manawatu Road; thence by a right line across the said road and across the Makakahi River; thence south by the said river to the road at the north-eastern corner of Section No. 38, Block IX, Mangaone Survey District; thence towards the south generally by a right line across that road to the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 38; thence by Sections Nos. 38 and 39, Block IX aforesaid, to the Ngatahaka Stream; thence towards the west and north-west generally by the said Ngatahaka Stream to its confluence with the Makakahi River; and thence by the said Makakahi River to the place of commencement.
