An Act to enable the Waimakariri Harbour Board to borrow the Sum of Three Thousand Pounds.
Preamble.
WHEREAS it is desired to raise the above sum for the purpose of carrying out improvements in the Harbour and River Waimakariri, including in such improvements the purchase or hire of a dredge for use in the said harbour and river, and also for the erection of training walls and improving the banks of the river to assist navigation, and erecting such wharves and other improvements as the said Board may decide upon:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Waimakariri Harbour Board Loan Act, 1906.”
2 Power to borrow.
The Waimakariri Harbour Board shall have power to borrow, subject to the provisions of “The Harbours Act, 1878,”
any sum not exceeding three thousand pounds, and to apply the moneys so borrowed to the carrying-out of improvements in the Port, Harbour, and River Waimakariri.
3 Repeal.
“The Waimakariri Harbour Board Loan Act, 1881,”
is hereby repealed.
