An Act to amend the Manawatu County Loan and Empowering Act, 1917.

Preamble.

WHEREAS no part of the sum of eighteen thousand pounds authorized to be raised by the Manawatu County Loan and Empowering Act, 1917, has yet been raised: And whereas it is expedient to increase the amount authorized to be raised by the said Act and to further amend the same Act:

BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the Manawatu County Loan and Empowering Amendment Act, 1919, and shall be read together with and be deemed part of the Manawatu County Loan and Empowering Act, 1917 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Section 3 of principal Act amended.

Section three of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting therein the words “thirty thousand pounds” in lieu of the words “eighteen thousand pounds.”

3 Section 3 further amended.

The following paragraphs are hereby substituted for paragraphs (f) and (h) respectively of section three of the principal Act:—

“(f.)

The repayment to the Council’s General Account of the sum of two thousand nine hundred and two pounds expended thereout for the purposes of the tramway:

“(h.)

The acquisition of road-making plant and machinery, and the refunding to the General Account of the sum of one hundred and three pounds expended for such purposes.”

4 Subsection (4) of section 3 amended.

Subsection four of section three of the principal Act is hereby amended by substituting the words “two thousand nine hundred and two pounds” for the words “eleven hundred and seventy-seven pounds.”
