An Act to amend the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Act, 1887.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Amendment Act, 1920, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the New Plymouth Recreation and Race course Reserve Act, 1887 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Paragraph (2) of section 3 of principal Act amended.
Paragraph two of section three of the principal Act is hereby amended by substituting the words “three chains and a half”
for the words “one chain and a half.”
3 Section 4 of principal Act amended.
Section four of the principal Act is hereby amended as follows:—
(a.)
By omitting the words “three days,”
and substituting the words “six days”
:
(b.)
By omitting the words “nine o’clock a.m.,”
and substituting the words “eleven o’clock a.m.”
:
(c.)
By repealing paragraph two, and substituting the following paragraph:—
“The Taranaki Jockey Club may, with the consent of the New Plymouth Borough Council, permit the racecourse to be used for horse-racing by any hunt club, trotting club, or other racing club at such times, not exceeding four days in each year, as the said club shall appoint. The racecourse shall not be used for horse racing or for training of horses except by or with the consent of the Taranaki Jockey Club”

(d.)
By omitting from paragraph four the words “twenty-five pounds,”
and substituting the words “one hundred pounds.”
