WHEREAS a special loan of five thousand pounds under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, was raised by the Waiapu County Council for the purpose of meeting the cost of erecting a bridge across the Waiapu River at Rotokautuku, which loan was called the Rotokautuku Bridge Loan No. 1, and was secured by a rate over the special-rating district for that purpose created: And whereas the said loan-moneys were duly expended in the erection of a bridge across the Waiapu River at Rotokautuku: And whereas after being duly erected the said bridge was swept away by a flood in the month of June, nineteen hundred and sixteen, and in consequence a new bridge had to be erected by the said Council across the said Waiapu River at Rotokautuku, the cost of erection of the said new bridge being paid out of a special loan of five thousand pounds raised by the said Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, which special loan was called the Rotokautuku Bridge Loan No. 2: And whereas by virtue of section thirty-nine of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1923, the Waiapu County Council has been empowered to pay out of its General Account the interest and other annual charges payable in respect of the said Rotokautuku Bridge Loan No. 2 until the same is extinguished: And whereas it is just and equitable that the Waiapu County Council should also pay the interest and other annual charges on the said Rotokautuku Bridge Loan No. 1 out of the General Account of the said Council: And whereas it is the desire of the said Waiapu County Council that the said interest and other annual charges should be so paid:
