An Act to amend the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the Inangahua County Empowering Act, 1943, and shall be read together with the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894.

2 Increasing authority to levy rates in Reefton.

Section three of the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894, as set out in section three of the Inangahua County Empowering Act, 1908, is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the words “one halfpenny”, and substituting the words “one penny halfpenny”.

3 Payment of lighting costs in Reefton.

The Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894, is hereby amended by repealing section eleven, and substituting the following section:—

“11

The cost of lighting streets, roads, bridges, and other public places and public buildings in the Town of Reefton may, to such extent as the Council thinks fit, be paid out of the rate authorized by section three hereof.”
