An Act to amend the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907
Preamble.
WHEREAS by virtue of section four of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907, as amended by section two of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1908, the number of members of the Christchurch Drainage Board is twelve, being one member representing each of the twelve subdistricts of the Board as defined in the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act, 1914: And whereas since the passing of the last-mentioned Amendment Act the number of subdistricts of the Board has been increased to thirteen by the addition of the Sumner Subdistrict:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act, 1948, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907.
2 Increasing number of members of Board.
(1)
Section four of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907, as amended by section two of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1908, is hereby further amended by omitting the word “twelve”
, and substituting the word “thirteen”
.
Repeal.
(2)
Section two of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1908, is hereby consequentially repealed.
