An Act to Amend the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1949, and shall be read together with and form part of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920 (herein called the principal Act).

2 Increasing maximum rate in respect of year ending 31st March, 1951.

Notwithstanding anything contained in section forty of the principal Act, the Board may, in respect of the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, make and levy pursuant to that section a general rate not exceeding sixpence in the pound on the annual value of rateable property or three-eighths of a penny in the pound on the capital value thereof.
