An Act to amend the Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act 1951, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 General rate.

(1)

The Board may from time to time, as it thinks fit, make and levy a general rate not exceeding in any one year sixpence in the pound on the annual value of all rateable property within the district or three-eighths of a penny in the pound on the capital value thereof or one penny and three-eighths of a penny in the pound on the unimproved value thereof.

Repeal.

(2)

Section forty of the principal Act is hereby repealed.
