This Act may be cited as the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act 1954, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

The Board may purchase or acquire or take under the Public Works Act 1928 any land or buildings which in the opinion of the Board may be necessary or convenient to be purchased or acquired or taken for or in connection with any public services operated by the Board for the conveyance of passengers.

The Board shall be a local authority for the purposes of the Public Works Act 1928, and all works which the Board is authorized by this Act or the principal Act to undertake shall be deemed to be public works within the meaning of the Public Works Act 1928.
