An Act to empower the Manukau City Council to remit certain drainage and sewerage rates
WHEREAS the Manukau City Council has heretofore levied a drainage rate in pursuance of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1960, and a sewerage rate in pursuance of the Manukau City Empowering (Sewerage Rate) Act 1966, on all rateable properties within the City of Manukau which are included within the Inner Area of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage District, and may hereafter continue to levy such drainage rate and sewerage rate: And whereas there are certain rateable properties within the City of Manukau which are included within the said Inner Area which cannot conveniently be connected to any public drain or sewer and it is considered inequitable that such drainage and sewerage rates should be levied on such properties and it is desirable that the said Council should be authorised and empowered to grant remissions or refunds of such rates in respect of such properties:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Manukau City Empowering (Rates Remission) Act 1969.
