An Act to amend the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Auckland Regional Authority Amendment Act 1971, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Committees

Section 17 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “Subject to the provisions of section 44 of this Act, the”, and substituting the word “The”.

3 Auckland Centennial Memorial Park

(1)

Section 44 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsections (6) and (7).

(2)

This section and section 2 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of November 1971.

4 Unauthorised expenditure

(1)

Section 55 of the principal Act (as amended by section 7(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1964) is hereby further amended—

(a)

By omitting the word “receipts”, and substituting the word “income”.

(b)

By omitting the words “four thousand dollars”, and substituting the expression “$8,000”.

(2)

This section shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April 1971.

5 Repealing provisions relating to unauthorised expenditure in other Acts

(1)

The following enactments are hereby repealed:

(a)

Section 56 of the Auckland Transport Board Act 1928:

(b)

Section 47 of the Auckland Centennial Memorial Park Act 1941:

(c)

Section 60 of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1960.

(2)

This section shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1 st day of April 1971.
