An Act to amend the Auckland Electric Power Board Act 1978
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Auckland Electric Power Board Amendment Act 1979, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Auckland Electric Power Board Act 1978 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Remuneration of Chairman
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 23, and substituting the following section:
“23
The Chairman may be paid such annual allowance, not exceeding such amount as may from time to time be approved by the Minister of Finance, out of the funds of the Board, as the Board from time to time fixes.”
3 Extraordinary business
Section 31(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the word “meeting”
where it last occurs, and substituting the word “member”
.
4 Board may advance money to consumer for energy conservation purposes
The principal Act is hereby further amended by inserting, after section 99, the following section:
“99a
The Board may, on such terms and conditions as may be approved by the Minister, advance money to any of its consumers for the purpose of enabling the consumer to purchase and install equipment and materials approved by the Minister for energy conservation.”
