An Act to authorise the Tauranga City Council to relinquish its rights and powers under the Tauranga City Council Empowering Act 1969 and to repeal that Act

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Tauranga City Council Empowering Repeal Act 1979.

2 Authority to relinquish rights and powers

The Tauranga City Council is hereby authorised to relinquish the rights and powers given to it by the Tauranga City Council Empowering Act 1969.

3 Repeal

The Tauranga City Council Empowering Act 1969 is hereby repealed.
