This Act may be cited as the Nelson City Council (Trafalgar Park) Empowering Act 1985.

The land described in the Schedule to this Act is hereby freed and discharged from all express or implied trusts, reservations, and restrictions imposed by section 4 of the Trafalgar Park Purchasing Act 1891, and shall be held by the Nelson City Council for its general purposes.

The District Land Registrar for the Nelson Land Registration District is hereby authorised and directed to make such entries in his registers and to do all such other things as may be necessary to give effect to the provisions of section 2 of this Act.

All proceeds received by the Nelson City Council from the sale, or acquisition under the Public Works Act 1981, of the land described in the Schedule to this Act or any part of it, after the deduction and payment of all costs and expenses relating to and incidental to the sale or acquisition, shall be held by the Council and applied for the purposes of recreation.
