An Act to extend the powers of the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees constituted under the provisions of the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 to lease land
WHEREAS by clause 9 of the Second Schedule to the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees are empowered to lease any lands as therein described and provided, but only for any term not exceeding forty-two years in possession and not in reversion: And whereas it is desirable that the said trustees should be empowered to lease any such lands for any term they may approve without such limitation as aforesaid:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Act 1961, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Clause 9 of the Second Schedule to principal Act amended
Clause 9 of the Second Schedule to the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “not exceeding forty-two years in possession and not in reversion”.
3 Private Act
This Act is hereby declared to be a private Act.
