An Act to make provision for the Appointment of Clerk of Parliaments.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Clerk of Parliaments Act, 1872.”
2 Francis Eastwood Campbell Clerk of Parliaments.
Francis Eastwood Campbell, Esquire, the present Clerk of the House of Representatives, is hereby declared to be the Clerk of Parliaments, and shall hold such office so long as he shall be Clerk of the House of Representatives.
3 Clerk of Parliaments, how to be appointed hereafter.
Whensoever the said Francis Eastwood Campbell shall cease to hold the office of Clerk of Parliaments, the appointment to such office shall be as nearly as may be in accordance with the law and usage of the Imperial Parliament.
