An Act to amend “The Census Act, 1877.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Census Act Amendment Act, 1890.”
2 Amendments in “The Census Act, 1877,”
and its Schedules.
The following amendments are hereby made in “The Census Act, 1877”
(hereinafter referred to as the “said Act”
), that is to say:—
(1.)
The account to be taken under the fourth section of the said Act may be taken as therein prescribed on any day or days not later than the thirtieth day of April in the year in which such account is taken.
(2.)
In the Second Schedule to the said Act, the words “Their rank, profession, or usual occupation, present and past,”
are hereby repealed, and the following substituted in lieu thereof: “Their present rank, profession, or usual occupation.”
(3.)
In the Third Schedule to the said Act, the words “Extent of land enclosed by fencing,”
and the four last lines of such Schedule relating to the quantity of wheat, oats, barley, and flour, are hereby respectively repealed, and shall henceforth be omitted from the said Schedule.
