An Act to authorise the Construction of a certain Railway.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Railways Authorisation Act, 1908.
2 Section of Midland Railway authorised.
The Governor may from time to time, in the name and on behalf of His Majesty, undertake or enter into contracts for the construction of the railway mentioned in the Schedule hereto, to the extent specified in that Schedule.
3 How cost to be defrayed.
The cost of constructing such railway shall be paid out of moneys to be appropriated for that purpose by Parliament.
4 Act to be deemed a special Act.
This Act shall be deemed to be a special Act (authorising the construction of such railway to the extent specified in the Schedule hereto) within the meaning and for the purpose of the Public Works Act, 1908, which Act is, as far as applicable, hereby incorporated with this Act.
5 Second Schedule to Government Railways Act amended.
The Second Schedule to the Government Railways Act, 1908, is hereby amended by omitting the words “Plan No. 13066,”
and substituting therefor the words “Plan No. 16430.”
