An Act to amend the Impounding Act 1955

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Impounding Amendment Act 1963, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Impounding Act 1955 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Offences by poundkeepers

Section 57 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of subsection (2) the words “Neglects to provide sustenance for stock impounded, or loses any such stock”, and substituting the words “Loses any stock impounded”.

3 Burden of proof in certain cases

Section 59 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (1).

This Act is administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.
