An Act to amend the Human Tissue Act 1964
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Human Tissue Amendment Act 1968, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Human Tissue Act 1964 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Interpretation
Section 2 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the definition of the term “medical practitioner”
, in subsection (1), and substituting the following definition:
“‘Medical practitioner’ means a person who is registered or deemed to be registered as a medical practitioner under the Medical Practitioners Act 1950, and, subject to section 4a of this Act, includes a person who is conditionally registered under that Act:”.
3 Restrictions on persons conditionally registered
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 4, the following section:
“4a
For the purposes of sections 3 and 4 of this Act, but for no other purpose of this Act, a person who is conditionally registered under the Medical Practitioners Act 1950 shall be subject to the restrictions imposed by section 10 of the last-mentioned Act.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Health.
