An Act to amend the National Provident Fund Act 1950
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the National Provident Fund Amendment Act 1971, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the National Provident Fund Act 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Fixing rates of interest
(1)
Section 6a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 4 of the National Provident Fund Amendment Act 1959) is hereby amended by omitting the words “Governor-General in Council”
, and substituting the word “Minister”
.
(2)
The National Provident Fund (Interest on Investments) Order 1971 is hereby revoked.
(3)
Notwithstanding the revocation of the National Provident Fund (Interest on Investments) Order 1971 by subsection (2) of this section the rates of interest specified in that order shall be deemed to have been determined by the Minister.
This Act is administered in the Treasury.
