An Act to amend the Veterinary Services Act 1946
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Veterinary Services Amendment Act (No. 2) 1980, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Veterinary Services Act 1946 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Interpretation
Section 2 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the definition of the term “Minister”
, and substituting the following definition:
“‘Minister’ means the Minister of Agriculture.”.
3 Contributions of Boards
(1)
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 18, and substituting the following section:
“18
“(1)
Subject to subsection (2) of this section, the amount of the annual contribution payable by each of the contributory Boards shall be paid out of its funds.
“(2)
On the recommendation of the Dairy Board, the Minister of Finance may in any year, if he thinks fit, direct the payment of all or any specified part of the contribution payable by that Board in respect of that year out of the Dairy Industry Account; and in that case payment shall be made out of that account accordingly.”
(2)
Section 17 of the principal Act is hereby repealed.
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
