Where a member of the Board, who is appointed under paragraph (b) or paragraph (c) or paragraph (d) or paragraph (e) of section 3(3) of this Act or who is appointed under section 6a or section 7(2) of this Act in respect of a member of the Board appointed under any of those paragraphs, has, directly or indirectly, a pecuniary interest in any matter before the Board or a committee of the Board, section 6 of the Local Authorities (Members’ Interests) Act 1968 shall not prohibit the member from voting on or taking part in the discussion of that matter where the pecuniary interest is not different in kind from the interests of other persons in the federation, association, or organisation which nominated the member appointed under paragraph (b) or paragraph (c) or paragraph (d) or paragraph (e) of section 3(3) of this Act.”
