An Act to amend the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council 1976

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council Amendment Act 1982, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council Act 1976 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Council may borrow funds to meet temporary shortfall

The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 19b (as inserted by section 4 of the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council Amendment Act 1977), the following section:

“19c

Where any amount payable in any financial year to the Council in respect of levies imposed under this Act is not or will not be received by the Council in that financial year, the Council may borrow money (whether by way of overdraft or otherwise) up to that amount, but shall repay the loan as soon as practicable after it receives the amount payable to it.”

This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
