An Act to amend the Mental Health Act 1969
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Mental Health Amendment Act 1982, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Mental Health Act 1969 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 District inspectors, deputy district inspectors, and official visitors
(1)
Section 2 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting in the definition of the term “inspector”
, after the words “district inspector”
, the words “or deputy district inspector”
.
(2)
Section 5 of the principal Act is hereby amended—
(a)
By inserting in subsection (1) and subsection (2), after the words “district inspector”
wherever they occur, the words “or deputy district inspector”
:
(b)
By inserting in subsection (3) and subsection (4), after the words “district inspector”
, the words “and deputy district inspector”
:
(c)
By repealing subsection (5):
(d)
By inserting in subsection (7), after the words “district inspector”
, the words “or deputy district inspector”
.
