An Act to amend the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act 1975
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Motor Vehicle Dealers Amendment Act 1982, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act 1975 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Certain certificates to be evidence
The principal Act is hereby amended by repealing section 142, and substituting the following section:
“142
“(1)
A certificate in writing given under the seal of the Board to the effect that any specified person is or is not the holder of a licence or certificate of approval, or was or was not the holder of a licence or certificate of approval at any particular time or during any specified period, shall in any judicial proceedings be sufficient evidence, until the contrary is proved, of the matters referred to in the certificate.
“(2)
A certificate in writing given under the seal of the Institute to the effect that any specified person is or is not registered as a motor vehicle salesman, or was or was not registered as such a salesman at any particular time or during any specified period, shall in any judicial proceedings be sufficient evidence, until the contrary is proved, of the matters referred to in the certificate.”
3 Fees
Section 145 of the principal Act is hereby repealed.
This Act is administered in the Department of Justice.
