An Act to amend the Pharmacy Act 1970
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Pharmacy Amendment Act 1982, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Pharmacy Act 1970 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Exemption for urgent pharmacies
(1)
Section 46 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (a), and substituting the following paragraph:
“(a)
Is established for the purpose of selling medicines and surgical appliances at any time outside ordinary business hours; and”.
(2)
Section 46 of the principal Act is hereby further amended by adding, as subsection (2), the following subsection:
“(2)
In this section the term ‘ordinary business hours’ means the ordinary hours of shop trading in the locality in which the pharmacy concerned is established on any day other than a Saturday or any day referred to in paragraph (b) or paragraph (c) of section 11(1), or in section 12, of the Shop Trading Hours Act 1977.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Health.
