An Act to amend the Crimes Act 1961

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Crimes Amendment Act 1998, and is part of the Crimes Act 1961 (“the principal Act”).

2 Money laundering

(1) This subsection amended s 257A(2) and (3) of the principal Act.

(2) This subsection substituted s 257A(6) and inserted s 257A(6A) and (6B) of the principal Act.

3 When bail not allowable

[Repealed]

Section 3 was repealed, as from 1 January 2001, by section 74(2) Bail Act 2000 (2000 No 38). See section 75 of that Act as to the savings provisions.

4 Refusal of witness to give evidence

This section substituted s 352(3) of the principal Act.

5 Appeal against order in respect of costs

This section inserted s 379CA of the principal Act.
