The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • (1) This Act is the Conservation Amendment Act 2001.

    (2) In this Act, the Conservation Act 1987 is called “the principal Act”.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Interpretation

  • Section 2(1) of the principal Act is amended by—

    • (a) omitting from the definition of conservation management plan the words “section 48 of the National Parks Act 1980,”:

    • (b) repealing the definition of management plan.
