The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title

(1) This Act is the Courts Martial Appeals Amendment Act 2004.
(2) In this Act, the Courts Martial Appeals Act 1953 is called
“the principal Act”
.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Constitution of Courts Martial Appeal Court
Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by adding the following subsection:
“(4) Every person appointed under subsection (1)(b) has all the immunities of a Judge of the High Court for the purposes of carrying out his or her tasks and functions as a Judge of the Courts Martial Appeal Court.”
