The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance (International Co-operation) Amendment Act 2012.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Principal Act amended
This Act amends the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003.
4 Application of Commerce Act 1986
Section 113 is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (e):
-
“(ea) sections 99B to 99P (assistance to overseas regulators), as if—
“(i) references in those sections to competition law were references to consumer credit law; and
“(ii) references in those sections to the Minister were references to the Minister of Consumer Affairs:”.
