Proposed amendment to Supplementary Order Paper No 120
Clare Curran, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
New clause 10A:
In new clause 10A, replace subclause (2) with:
(2) Subsection (1) does not prevent an invention that makes use of an embedded computer program from being patentable.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends Supplementary Order Paper No 120 so as to ensure that an invention that makes use of an embedded computer program may be patented despite a computer program not being an invention for the purposes of the Bill.
