Proposed amendments
Eugenie Sage, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 51
In new section 48AA(1), delete paragraph (e).
In new section 48AA(1)(a), after “The Governor-General may, by Order in Council,”
insert “made on the recommendation of the Minister”
.
After new section 48AA(2), insert:
“(3) Before making a recommendation to the Governor-General under subsection (1)(a), the Minister must consult the New Zealand Conservation Authority about any draft regulations and must, when making a recommendation, take account of that advice.”
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Regulatory Reform Bill to ensure that conservation activities undertaken by the Department of Conservation are not compromised by timeframes that exceed the ability of the Department to handle.
